East Palo Alto, CA – September 2024 Hula Networks is thrilled to announce its discovery of the incredible Live in Peace Bike Shop, a local nonprofit tax ID 45-2301493 dedicated to empowering the East Palo Alto community through the gift of bicycles. Through its sponsorship of the Black Mountain Composite youth mountain bike team, Hula Networks was introduced to the amazing work being done by this organization and was immediately impressed by the scope of their efforts.
Live in Peace works tirelessly to collect donated bicycles, refurbishing them for local residents in need of general transportation, commuting to work, or for those wanting to establish healthy, active lifestyles through cycling. They also provide affordable bike repair services, ensuring community members can keep their bikes well-maintained at minimal cost. For high-end bike donations, Live in Peace sells them to generate funding for their overall programs, helping them sustain and expand their reach.
What makes the Live in Peace Bike Shop truly stand out is its focus on youth development. Local youth are hired and trained in bike repair, customer service, and the intricacies of running a bike shop. This hands-on experience instills valuable life skills and sparks a passion for cycling. Live in Peace even offers “shop bikes” to youth without their own bicycles, allowing them to participate in local cycling events, including competitive cyclocross races.

While no appointment is required to donate, they encourage donors to send a notification and photos via email before dropping off items. This helps ensure a smoother process and allows the team to prepare for the donations.

If it’s more convenient, you can drop off your bicycle donations at our office located at 929 Berryessa Road, Suite #10, San Jose, CA 95133. Alternatively, we can arrange to pick up your donations and deliver them to Live In Peace on a monthly basis.
